What are the different views on abortion?
There are two views on abortions. The pro-lifer’s believe that
an abortion is wrong at any time. The pro-choice believe that a woman should
have the choice to abort the fetus. An abortion of any kind is murder and should
be treated as such. Just because the fetus has not been born yet does not mean
that it does not have just as many rights as a full grown human
has.Since 1973, when abortion was legalized, through the court case Roe vs. Wade, about
1.6 million abortions have happened per year. That means there have been more than 53
million abortions performed in the United States since Roe v. Wade was passed. The
number of babies killed by abortion in America each year is almost equal to the number
of U.S. military deaths that havehappened in all of the wars that the United States has ever
been involved in combined. The mental health of the woman who has had an abortion has
dramatically suffered afterwards. In addition to mental suffering, women are also vulnerable
to many
other dangers. After an abortion many complications can occur with future
pregnancies. Women are just as much the victim in abortions. They need to be
comforted and not looked down upon. The babies’ heart starts to beat blood
through its body 22 days after conception. Women do have the right to their own
body but when an abortion occurs the abortionist is harming another person’s
body without their consent. The baby in the womb has a different genetic code,
heart beat and brain from the mother. It is its own person. Just like the women
that child deserves rights to its body even though it does not have to voice to
defend itself. Women are victims in abortion also and they deserve to know that
there are other options besides terminating the fetus.

Not a loud enough voice
My eyelids closed,
I curl my toes,
I feel…
Her hand press her
stomach.
I wonder if, when at last she knows…
Will she finally think of
me?
Or of what I will be,
If given the choice?
There are some things
that we
Cannot see,
Like organs now formed inside of me,
But that’s the
way it’s meant to be:
Being hidden, veiled in secrecy,
Gives life an air
of mystery.
I hope when at last I am revealed
My mother will
rejoice
Until that day please speak for me
Because I have no voice.
I curl my toes,
I feel…
Her hand press her
stomach.
I wonder if, when at last she knows…
Will she finally think of
me?
Or of what I will be,
If given the choice?
