"An original is a creation motivated by desire. Any reproduction of an originals motivated be necessity. It is marvelous that we are the only species that creates gratuitous forms. To create is divine, to reproduce is human."- May Ray
Reproductive technology includes all current and expected uses of technology in human and animal reproduction, including in vitro fertilization, abortion, what to do with left over embryos, savior siblings, surrogacy, pre-implantation, embryo screening, cloning, and many more. Reproductive technology saves and offers lives, it helps people who wouldn't be able to have children on their own to be given the chance to have a family. There are some downsides to reproductive technology, it is not natural and can have some serious side effects, it is also very expensive.
Reproductive technologies have rapidly increased over the past 15 years. Regulating these new technologies can be extremely difficult. With reproductive technology you can create a genetically matched child have it implanted through IVF and use it to save a terminally ill child. You can chose to end your child's life before it even begins by getting an abortion. If you go through IVF they take out numerous amounts of embryos, once you go through the process you will need to decide how to get rid of the extra ones. All of these technologies are very controsversial. Where do we draw the line?

Many people want to be able to have children, unfortunately some cannot. Reproductive technology gives people the chance to create their own family, it is not full proof though, many things can go wrong. On paper it looks good, but there is no way in telling how it will work once the procedure is done.
